MediaGeniX NG implements open standards automation at Poland’s TVN
In what’s being billed as the first project to managing commercial television airtime based on open XML standards, MediaGeniX NG is implementing its What’sON scheduling system at Poland’s leading commercial broadcaster, TVN.
The company said the installation represents the first true integration between television program and commercial planning in Europe. Based on XML, the system is being tailored to support integration with third-party airtime sales solutions.
The new system allows broadcasters to optimize their commercial airtime based on internal or external rules, regulations and strategies, dictated by changing viewing figures or on specific requirements from the promotional, the program or the commercial planning departments. They can, for example, insert extra commercial airtime and have the security that everybody is informed and that the changes comply with all the rules and regulations.
The What’sON system acts as an information backbone, in which employees can access, follow-up and change all information relevant to their job. The real-time multi-user environment is designed for a more efficient workflow, allowing employees to act based on the most up-to-date information coming from multiple sources.
