Mexican Broadcaster Goes Tapeless with Omneon Spectrum
To streamline master control workflow Omneon Video Networks has upgraded Television Metropolitana Canal 22--one of Mexico's premier networks--with its Omneon Spectrum media server system. The Mexico City facility will use the system for commercial, promo, network ID and program play-out.
The system installed at Canal 22 has a 2 TB storage capacity, or 139 hours of MPEG-2 play-out at 25 Mbps. Using Omneon's open architecture, the network exports final programs and promo spots from Apple's Final Cut Pro and Leitch VelocityQ editing stations for the system.
Systems integrator AMTEC helped with the server installation, managing final integration and coordinating installation of the server system.
