MicroFirst hires industry veteran
MicroFirst Engineering has hired Jerry Berger as its Vice President and General Manager. Berger is credited with developing new high technology businesses and escalating sales revenues and profits at several leading industry giants including Sony Electronics and Leitch Technology. MicroFirst Engineering is a supplier of broadcast and multimedia automation systems.
Berger is responsible for directing all sales, marketing and strategic management activities at MicroFirst, including forging strategic partnerships and expanding world-wide operations. He will also be instrumental in developing company strategy.
Berger has more than 25 years experience in network television, local station and post-production operations, Berger’s management proficiency, coupled with his sales and marketing prowess, have achieved remarkable results.
During his 10 year tenure with Sony Electronics, Berger held several key management positions including: General Manager of the Transmission & Automation Systems in the Broadcast Division and General Manager of the Visual Imaging Products Group in the Applications Systems Division. He was also the National Sales Director for the Professional Video Reseller Division.
Prior to joining Sony, Berger was responsible for automating NBC Television Network’s transmission operations and for its post-production facilities & operations.
Berger’s most recent post was at AgileVision, (subsequently acquired by Leitch) a start-up high technology company specializing in MPEG Processing for integrated DTV Master Control, where he initially served as its Vice President of Marketing and then as its Vice President of Sales.
