Microtune's '3 in 1' Tuner Exceeds NTIA DTV Tuner Requirements
Shortly after the National Telecommunications and Information Administration released the RF performance requirements for set-top boxes eligible for the digital-to-analog converter box coupon program, Microtune announced its MT2131 MicroTuner exceeds these requirements.
James A. Fontaine, president and CEO of Microtune, said, "By deploying our 3-in-1 tuner, manufacturers can be assured that their set-top converter boxes will comply with the RF technical specifications required for technical approval under the NTIA's converter box coupon program. Our MT2131 tuner, which supports U.S. analog, digital and cable standards, was engineered to drive very high-end digital TV reception quality into the cost-sensitive consumer TV mass market."
Microtune says the MT2131 exceeded requirements for RF phase noise, adjacent channel rejection, taboo channel rejection, and minimum and maximum signal levels. The tuner was tested at Microtune's labs in Plano, Texas.
