MIRA Mobile TV selects Fujinon for HD production
Fujinon's XA87x9.3BESM lenses
MIRA Mobile Television, based in Portland, OR, has purchased 11 HD lenses for a new all-digital high-definition (HD) production truck from Fujinon. The truck, dubbed M-5, will hit the road in November.
The company will use a variety of lenses to cover live professional and college sporting events in and the western United States. The mobile production company will also use the lenses for live shows, such as concerts and other staging events, and corporate programming events.
The company will add four XA72x9.3BESM and two XA87x9.3BESM (with stabilization) HD zoom lenses; three HA22x7.8 BERM ENG lenses; and two HA13x4.5BERM wide-angle lenses. The lenses will be affixed to Sony HDCAM cameras that will acquire signals in the new 1080/60p format.
At NAB2004, Fujinon also announced that Trio Video, a production company located in Chicago, IL, purchased 10 Fujinon HD zoom and ENG lenses as part of a system-wide SD to HD upgrade within an existing production truck. That purchase follows the installation of Fujinon lenses in Trio Video’s Tango production truck. Meanwhile, F&F Productions, based in Clearwater, FL, has ordered a variety of HD and ENG lenses from the company for two HD production trucks to be launched this summer and will help FOX Sports televise NFL games this fall in 720p HD.
