Miranda Acquires NVision

In a move to grow its global position as a large-scale routing and signal processing equipment manufacturer, Montreal-based Miranda Technologies Inc. said at NAB that it is buying Grass Valley, Calif.-based NVision Inc. from parent company ADC Telecommunications Inc.

The agreement includes the transfer of more than 40 patents held by NVISION.

Miranda's new offerings at NAB included the Oxtel Series Imagestore HDTV mixing and switching system. NVision has been making HDTV equipment since 1989.

"NVision furthers our ability to provide complete infrastructure solutions to our customers and systems integrators around the globe," said Miranda president Christian Tremblay.

A new Grass Valley-based entity, Miranda MGV, will regroup NVision, the companies said.
