MobiTV halves NBA League Pass price
Perhaps suggesting slow uptake of its application, MobiTV, a competitor to the nascent mobile service to be offered by television broadcasters, last week cut the price in half for its NBA League Pass Mobile, an application that allows basketball fans to watch almost any NBA game on their iPhone or iPod touch.
Originally priced at $40, the mobile service slashed the price in half to $20 for the season. Also, there’s a free version of the app to allow a viewing trial without paying any fee.
NBA League Pass Mobile Lite allows viewers to watch live games and replays just like in the paid version, but only through Jan.24. After that, users will be prompted to upgrade. Otherwise the lite app will feature live scores and stats, but no video.
MobiTV also updated NBA League Pass Mobile, responding to some user requests. Viewers can now view NBA standings by tapping the “More” button at the bottom of the screen. The app also now includes stats for past games, which viewers can find within the app’s “Schedule” section.
