Moonlight MPEG-2 codec enables PC-based PVR and AV hub
Moonlight Cordless will enable the digital storing and distribution of MPEG-2 video content to multiple PCs and IP set-top boxes throughout the home or enterprise using a consumer-grade video capture card.
Moonlight’s PVR/NetStreamer Encoder for PCs, part of the SharkImage MPEG-2 codec solution, allows video capture card manufacturers to add remote content distribution to their product line, creating low cost PVRs, Video Distribution Centers, and Media Centers in the home. Combined with Moonlight’s Elecard MPEG-2 Streaming Decoder, the PVR/NetStreamer Encoder creates a full home hub, or distribution video system.
The video capture card is a conventional PCI card for use in PCs and set-top boxes. The Moonlight PVR/NetStreamer software bundled with the video capture card captures information and video source from the set top box and distributes it over remote displays, broadcasting (unicast or multicast/PES or TS) the content to multiple wireless or wired networked display screens.
Moonlight will present their PVR/NetStreamer software solution and their SharkImage H.264/MPEG-2 encoder and decoder products at NAB 2003 in a hospitality suite at the Marriott Courtyard, located at 3275 Paradise Road, Las Vegas (opposite the main entrance of the Las Vegas Convention Center).
