Movie Network Outsourcing to Omnilab
Content development and media services company Omnilab Media has inked a major deal with Movie Network Channels that will see it provide long-term outsourcing of playout, facilities and post production services for the broadcaster's channels.
As part of the deal Omnilab is building a new facility at Movie Network Channels' offices in St. Leonards which includes the installation of a 23-seat Final Cut Pro licence and provision of a dedicated on-site team responsible for audio, graphics, editing and technical support.
In addition, Omnilab will extend its own broadcast facility at its Yurong Street offices; build a multi-channel HD operations centre which will incorporate Omnilab's continued development of broadcast; and deliver within new media platforms such as mobile TV, internet TV and IPTV.
The new Movie Network Channels facility is scheduled for completion in August 2008 and Omnilab's Yurong Street multi-channel HD broadcast operations centre in Q4 of 2008.
Tony Forrest, CEO of The Movie Network Channels said: "This new deal is a significantly different style of service provision with a new post, design and audio facility being installed at our premises with a complete changeover to Final Cut Pro technology, desktop and suites. Through this service agreement we will enhance our capacity to deliver new services, as well as develop our capabilities in the high definition space and new media platforms. Omnilab Media are committed to our partnership on this and we look forward to making a lot of noise in these areas."
Movie Network Channel, a joint venture between Village Roadshow, Warner Bros., MGM and DisneyABC, provides premium subscription channels including Movie One, Movie Two, Movie Extra and Movie Greats via the Foxtel, Austar, Optus, SelecTV and Transact platforms.
