A dozen members of an advocacy group that promotes the MPEG standard plan to exhibit at IBC2009.
MPEG Industry Forum members exhibiting this year and showing off their latest developments include Amino Communications, Cisco, dicas, DivX/MainConcept, Fraunhofer IIS, Harmonic, Joanneum Research, Motorla, NagraVision, QUALCOMM, Sigma Designs and Zoran.
“IBC is a major event for our members and is an important opportunity for demonstrating their latest standards-based products and services,” said Sebastian Moeritz, MPEGIF president and CEO of dicas.
The MPEGIF also will present the MPEGIF master class, “The Future of Digital Television,” Monday, Sept. 14. Organized with the IBC, the event will explore how new technologies are changing the way digital multimedia is created, compressed, delivered and monetized.
Keynotes during the master class will be delivered by executives from EchoStar Broadcasting, Virgin Media, Deutsche Telecom, Turner Broadcasting and Sling Media. The keynote speakers will be joined by panelists including operators, technology pioneers and industry analysts from TDVision Systems, Open TV, NagraVision and the Association of Commercial Television in Europe.
