MRC Gear Used to Cover BoSox
The Lightship Group (Lightships) of Orlando, Fla. is using the Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) Link HD Wireless Diversity camera microwave system to assist in live coverage of sporting events from an aerial vantage point.
Lightships is operating the H. P. Hood blimp in connection with coverage of New England area sports, including Boston Red Sox games. The company is also planning to use the MRC system to enhance coverage of the 2007 World Series. Camera and microwave link equipment is provided to the Lightship Group by Flying pictures Aerial Broadcast Services.
“Since our decision to use the Link HD System, our television broadcasts have been flawless,” stated Jeff Vaughn, Flying Pictures broadcast manager. “It has been flawless, and I never use that word in this occupation. The MRC and Link proprietary technology together with the Cineflex gyro stabilized camera system means our clients get the best HD images in the world.”
The MRC Link HD system provides high-definition transmission without down and up conversions and associated latency issues.
