NAB 2009: FCC to Unveil Revamped DTV Web site
LAS VEGAS: Federal Communications Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will be on hand in Las Vegas tomorrow to roll out a redesigned Web site featuring information about the DTV transition. The reworked www.DTV.gov site is said to be more user friendly and useful in general.
It has ZIP Code searchable information on available DTV coverage for example, with contacts, events and service centers listed. There are reception maps, a troubleshooting guide and instructions on how to hook up a converter box and an antenna.
One feature is a 13-question “DTV Deputy Quiz,” to certify one as being knowledgeable enough to educate others about DTV. One of the questions asks what DTV stands for, including “Different Television,” “Dynamite Television,” “Dolby Television,” or “Digital Television,” setting the deputizing bar very high.
Adelstein will be on hand at the FCC Exhibit No. N8507 in North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
