NAB Show: AMV readying 3D Truck for Summer Projects
All Mobile Video is teaming with Sony to combine their tech resources to construct what both firms describe as a "fully 3D-capable, cine-enabled HD video production truck." The new mobile facility — likely to be the first of its kind — is expected to make its initial appearance at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 12-15 (Sony Booth).
The truck will be a 53-foot long double Expando and will house a variety of 3D and HD hardware/software components, including: 3Ality Digital 3D rigs; Sony HDC-1500 cameras; a Sony MVS-8000G production switcher; SRW recording decks; and SRW HD production monitors.
The 3D mobile facility is scheduled to cover a number of sports and other special events starting this summer. AMV said the new 3D truck will be "among the first" of the next generation of customized 2D/3D HD-capable mobile production trailers.
"3D is the new technology requirement for live production," said Alec Shapiro, Sony senior vice president for sales.
