NAB Show: JVC Shows Newest GY-HD200UB ProHD
JVC used the global stage of the just-concluded NAB Show to intro its new 720p-1080i signal-selectable GY-HD200UB ProHD camcorder. The company’s early ProHD line was first introduced to the industry at the 2004 NAB Show.
The latest GYHD200UB camcorder provides selectable live transport-stream output capability of 1080 60i and 50i signals, or 720 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p and 60p, through its IEEE 1394 connection. (The IEEE 1394 output signal can be recorded into the ProHD DR-HD100 Hard Disk Recorder as a QuickTime file.)
The next-gen camcorder model features 1280x720 progressive imaging and 720p recording—along with a 14-bit A/D converter and a 14.4v power system as standard. The selectable 60p and 60i acquisition capability is geared towards capturing HD news and sports images, while Hollywood and other content producers, JVC said, can tap into the camcorder’s “overcranked” recording for slow-motion imaging effects using 24p final output.
