NAB to transmit Sunshine PSAs via satellite today
The Radio and Television News Directors Foundation (RTNDF) has created five public service announcements (PSAs) that will be distributed today via satellite about the value of open government in a representative republic for use during the campaign season.
The Sunshine PSAs will be distributed by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) on its monthly satellite feed of PSAs from 11:30 a.m. to noon (EST). Satellite coordinates are: C-band, Galaxy 26 (also known as Intelsat A6), Transponder C09, 93 degrees west, Downlink Frequency 3880 — Vertical, Audio: 6.2/6.8.
The NAB feed will include five 30-second spots. One in both English and Spanish features citizens commenting on the importance of open government. The spots are built with time at the top for local anchors to open the spot with a suggested script.
A third spot features members of The Creative Coalition, a public advocacy arm of the entertainment industry. Appearing in that announcement are actors Barry Bostwick, James Eckhouse, Louis Gossett, Jr., Sharon Lawrence, Camryn Manheim, Ron Rifkin and Joan Van Ark.
There are also two versions of the citizens’ spots with Barry Bostwick and Louis Gossett, Jr., reading the introduction for a complete 30-second spot.
RTNDF worked with the Sunshine Week Alliance, The Creative Coalition and the American Society of Newspaper Editors to create the PSAs.
