NAB2006: Hitachi to Debut Two-Piece HD Camera
Hitachi Kokusai Electric America will unveil a compact HD camera it says is built for atypical environments such as aerial, sports production, within robotic systems, and for high-end surveillance applications for news units. To be introduced next week at NAB2006 (Booth C3926), Hitachi's new HD camera is the two-piece DK-H31S.
The unit provides resolution in both 1080i and 720p formats via 2/3-inch CCDs. Other possible applications for the DK-H31S, according to Hitachi, include military vision subassemblies and high-end industrial vision systems where extra spacing provided by the relatively small head is typically used for a larger lens inside robotic assemblies.
The company said the DK-H31S HD will be available in the fourth quarter of the year.
