NAB2006: TV One to Demo Next-Gen HD Processor
TV One has introduced a new multi-format, dual-channel HD video processor (C2-7300), which is the successor to the C2-7200 unveiled at NAB2005. The next-gen unit adds full HD-SDI multi-channel audio processing and, according to the company, was created primarily to address the changing needs of the broadcast market. The 7300 series supports all bidirectional analog-to-HD conversion scenarios within 1 RU enclosure.
The new unit coming to NAB2006 (Booth C347) this month provides 32 channels of stereo audio processing -- allowing simultaneous embedding of eight stereo audio channels for each of the two HD-SDI inputs and the extraction of eight stereo audio channels from each of the two independent HD-SDI outputs. (The channels are available in AES3-id on the unit's rear panel via a pair of HD-44 connectors.)
According to a company statement, an optional A2-7301 conversion unit is available to adapt from AES3-id to standard AES-3 on XLR connectors. Other conversion units soon will be introduced to accommodate other audio formats, such as low impedance balanced analog. Beyond HD-SDI, The 7300's 32 stereo channels (16 in, 16 out) but can be assigned to other composite, component, S-Video, analog RGBHV, or DVI inputs/outputs.
