NAB2007: Iconix Video Intros HD POV Camera Package
Iconix Video, the maker of one of the world's smallest professional HD cameras, is showing its recently released HD-RH1 digital I/O package and remote control system at NAB2007 this week (Booth SU11415). The HD-RH1 incorporates some of the same features usually found in larger HD ENG and EFP camera systems.
The POV camera system includes a separate camera head and processing controller unit, and may now be the smallest professional HD camera of its type in the industry, according to Iconix. The remote camera system includes a POV camera head that's 1.32 x 1.5 x 1.92 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces. The universal HD controller unit weighs 3.5 pounds and measures 8.4-by-1.8-by-12 inches; and a power supply, and can be ordered with 3, 6 and 10 meter cables, according to the company.
The HD-RH1 camera itself first became available in late 2006, and the company said it has sold more than 200 units to date. The new I/O package will ship in June. Projects having already used the package include Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean 13" movie sequel, National Geographic Television's "Planet Carnivore" series, and other film and TV projects.
