NBA All-Star HD coverage relies on Harris fiber solutions
The NBA's HD broadcast of the 56th NBA All-Star game Feb. 18 from Las Vegas relied on a fiber-optic HDTV solution from Harris.
The solution featured the Harris OPTO+ fiber-optic line's Coarse Wave Division Multiplexer modular products and the Harris CCS Navigator control and monitoring application running remotely over an IP network.
The OPTO+ wideband optical splitter and protection switch, which enables enhanced reliability during mission-critical events, delivered path redundancy.
During the All-Star Game, the NBA used the OPTO+ fiber-optic solution to carry HD signals over 5mi from courtside to the field production facility before the signal was uplinked to the main NBA distribution point.
