NBC ‘Football Night in America’ set to feature 103in plasmas
NBC Universal premiered its “Football Night in America” this Sunday with two 103in diagonal HD professional plasma displays on a new set in its studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
The plasma panels, Panasonic TH-103PF9UK, have a viewable area of about 89in wide by 50in high. Panasonic recently debuted the TH-103PF9UK, which is currently the largest plasma TV available. NBC Universal is the first commercial customer to purchase the 103in plasma TV.
With 16-bit color reproduction, the super-sized plasma provides widescreen progressive display featuring full HD pixel resolution (1920 x 1080), a contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and 4096 equivalent steps of color gradation.
NBC Universal placed the plasma displays on either side of its on-air talent desk for the Sunday night show. In addition, four Panasonic 50in TH-50PH9UK HD plasma displays are being used.
