NBC football to feature two 103in plasmas
NBC Universal has installed two 103in HD professional plasma displays to be integrated into the set of NBC’s “Football Night in America” studio show.
Panasonic recently made the 103in TH-103PF9UK model available to the public.
With 16-bit color reproduction, the TH-103PF9UK provides wide-screen progressive display featuring full HD pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080, a contrast ratio of 5000:1 and 4096 equivalent steps of color gradation. This 1080p display’s screen resolution, which amounts to about two million pixels, is twice the resolution of most HD sets. The display area measures approximately 89in by 50in.
The 103in plasma displays will be located on each side of the on-air talent desk on the newly constructed set at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, and will be an integral part of NBC’s “Football Night in America” studio. Additionally, four Panasonic 50in TH-50PH9UK plasma displays will be on the set for playbacks.
