NBC Universal automates with Crispin
Crispin's System 2000 broadcast automation system has been selected by NBC Universal to automate many of the processes relating to the network's multichannel operations at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and at its new cable operations center in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
These two facilities have the flexibility to provide live broadcast feeds of events on any of NBC's channels. NBC's new 350,000sq-ft headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, houses three studios totaling 15,000sq-ft.Additionally, the new facility houses control rooms, satellite operations and nonlinear edit systems.
NBC Universal has been using Crispin's original automation system (System 1000) since 1998 for the integration of live sports events such as the U.S. Open, The NFL on NBC (now known as "Sunday Night Football"), "The Today Show" and the Olympics. In the last Olympics alone, Crispin software played out more than 17,000 highlights and commercials.
