NEP Rolls Out New HD Mobile Unit
NEP Broadcasting, the remote production specialist in Pittsburgh, added another HD truck, the Supershooter 18. The self-contained hi-def production truck was baptized at the NHL All Star Game in Montreal, Canada on Jan. 25, and will be one of the primary mobile units being used by Turner Sports for NBA and MLB coverage.
Designed by Howie Naugle, Terry Kulchar and Mike Naugle SS18 features a Grass Valley Kalypso, DVEous, Thomson LDK-8000s, Canon lenses, Calrec Sigma, EVS XT2s and virtual monitor walls powered by Harris Centrio. SS18’s reroll is part of a larger upgrade to the entire fleet of 91 production trucks and support trailers.
NEP is majority owned by American Securities, a private equity concern in New York. The Pittsburgh TV truck company last September acquired some of the assets and CBS Sports contracts from National Mobile Television in Torrance, Calif. That company now has two trucks up for sale.
