NEP Supershooters covers sporting events in HD
NEP’s SS-19 features separate production areas for all of the major disciplines, supported by a full complement of Grass Valley products.
ABC Sports and ESPN have tapped NEP Supershooters to help cover college bowl games and next year's Super Bowl in HD. Two of NEP's HD-capable mobile production trucks are packed with Grass Valley digital production equipment.
NEP will send its 53ft long SS-19 truck to produce the pre-game show for The Rose Bowl telecast Jan. 4, 2006, in Pasadena, CA, for ABC Sports. The SS-19 carries 10 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II WorldCam HD cameras and a Grass Valley Kalypso HD switcher.
ABC and ESPN plan to offer 24 of the 25 post-season college football bowl games in HDTV between Dec. 20 and Jan. 4. In addition to the college bowl games, NEP Supershooters’ SS26, SS20, SS18 and Silver production trucks will be onsite Feb. 5, 2006, at Ford Field in Detroit to help cover Super Bowl XL in SD and HD. All are equipped with Grass Valley Kalypso HD switchers except for the SS26, which carries a Grass Valley XtenHD switcher. These trucks will also bring 64 Grass ValleyLDK 6000 mk II WorldCam HD cameras, and eight Grass Valley LDK 6200 Super SloMo cameras, although not all will be used by ABC.
