New HD production truck uses Leitch gear
MIRA Mobile Television, a Portland, OR-based mobile facilities company, built a new all-digital HD truck stocked with a full complement of equipment from Leitch. The new rig is expected to hit the road in November.
The company's 53-foot HD mobile unit, M-5, will be used to provide coverage of a variety of entertainment, corporate and sports events in the western United States, including the Seattle Sonics home and visiting team telecasts, as well as Seattle Mariners home telecasts for FOX Sports Net Northwest.
Featuring a unique dual-feed configuration, the M-5 enables the production of two separate programs from the same mobile unit in SD and/or HD. Leitch is supplying a wide range of SD and HD equipment for the truck, including its Integrator Gold wideband digital multi-rate routing systems; DPS-575 digital processing synchronizers; both 6800+ and NEO modular interface products, including several NEO-VRs; master sync pulse generators with HDTV test generator modules; and CCS-Pilot software providing control and monitoring for the integrated system. MIRA has also chosen Leitch’s HUC-3901 modular HD upconverter.
