New Printed Copy of FCC Regulations Now Available
On Tuesday, the FCC announced the October 2006 edition of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, covering FCC rules with amendments through Sept. 30, 2006 is now available from the Government Printing Office.
The rules are sold in paperback volumes costing between $40 and $61 (domestic). Parts 70 to 79, which includes rules concerning broadcast (AM, FM, TV, shortwave), cable and broadcast auxiliary services, costs $61. For information on how to order and pricing on individual volumes, see Public Notice--October 2006 Edition of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations is Available.
The most up-to-date FCC regulations are available online at ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/ at no charge. The Government Printing Office has removed the "Beta test" notice from the Web site, but still cautions the e-CFR is not an official legal edition of the CFR, but "an editorial compilation of CFR material and Federal Register amendments produced by the National Archives and Records Administration's Office of the Federal Register and the Government Printing Office." The material in e-CFR is updated on a daily basis and the current status is available at the top of all e-CFR Web pages. Each CFR Part can be displayed and printed or saved in electronic format, either as an html page or, with the help of a commercial program like Adobe Acrobat or a free program like PDFCreator, saved as a searchable PDF file.
