New software from DVS supports the variable frame rate of Panasonic's AJ-HDC27 (Varicam) HD film camera
Digital Video Systems' HD-software (version 2.6) now supports the variable frame rate of Panasonic’s AJ-HDC27 Varicam HD film camera.
The HDStationPlus/RGB disk recorders, the DVS CineControl on-set capturing system and the CLIPSTER real-time editing workstation now recognize the active frames of the 60 pictures per second transfer.
They store only the active frames allowing for slow- and fast-motion capture. The DVS system filters out the redundant data and thereby greatly reduces the overall amount of material stored resulting in a savings in the amount of storage needed and reduction in costs for storage and transfer times.
The improved software from DVS now supports ANC metadata allowing the storing of time-code information via an HD-SDI link. ANC can be stored with the video data in DPX-file format. This seamless data transfer allows viewing the footage on the user interface during play-out.
