New Trio Video HD truck uses Grass Valley
Mobile production company Trio Video selected Grass Valley HD production equipment to cover live music festivals, concerts and corporate events.
The Chicago-based company now operates three large HD trucks: Phoenix, Rhythm and Tango. Collectively, the trucks use up to 40 Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras, three Kalypso HD video production center switchers and three Trinix HD video routers.
The 53ft Rhythm is the latest addition, with expandable sides and an all-HD infrastructure that includes Grass Valley GeckoFlex and Kameleon signal processing modules. All of this multiformat equipment can be used to produce shows at 24 frames per second — the preference of many entertainment clients — as well as standard SD and HD (720p and 1080i) formats at 30 frames per second and 60 frames per second.
Trio Video sent three of its HD production trucks to cover the sixth annual Bonnaroo Music Festival, in Manchester, TN, on June 14-17th. The event took place over seven music stages and was covered by three Kalypso HD switchers, 26 LDK 6000 mk II Worldcam HD cameras and more than 40 VTRs. Grass Valley provided all the HD equipment and crews for the Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2006 and is scheduled to provide the same in 2008.
Trio Video is slated to use the Grass Valley HD equipment to help cover every major multi-day music festival in the United States this year.
