New York, LA, DC Testing Shutoff Today

published The two largest media markets, plus the nation’s capital are getting a taste of the post-analog world today.
Eleven stations in Washington, 17 in New York and 12 in Los Angeles are running “soft” analog test shutoffs Tuesday. Over-the-air viewers will get two minutes information about the DTV transition instead of regular programming.
Wednesday, stations in Hartford will run 30-minute DTV-education programs over the air, and Dallas-Fort Worth will get the message out with 5-minute spots Thursday.
Today's tests are at 5:28 p.m. local time in Washington and Los Angeles (with KCAL repeating at 9:28 p.m.) and at 6:57 p.m. in New York.
