Two New York-based post-production companies — The Post Factory and Editional Effects — have chosen Archion for media storage systems for their facilities.
Archion specializes in storage solutions for Avid post-production systems. Both post houses purchased Synergy HD, a RAID system that works with all versions of Avid’s Unity from 1GB to the latest release.
Editional Effects of New York, which serves several cable channels from its Times Square facility, said its decision in expanding a Unity system was whether to buy an entirely new Avid system or add another JBOD of Avid drives to the existing system. Upon purchasing the Synergy HD from Archion, the post house said the installation was plug-and-play and worked as though it was an Avid drive set.
Archion said Synergy HD was certified with all versions of Unity from 3.x through 4.2.x without requiring software and hardware replacements. Its hardware RAID protection eliminates the need for mirroring of storage for protection.
