published The FCC has voted, but the fat lady has yet to sing. On Wednesday, June 4, all five FCC commissioners are expected to testify at a Senate hearing on the media ownership vote.
Some lawmakers would like to reverse the action and may try to prohibit the FCC from spending money on the rule changes. Proposed legislation has already been introduced in the House and Senate that would return to older media ownership formulas.
The rule changes are also expected to face court challenges from media companies wanting more deregulation and consumer groups seeking stricter restrictions.
