NFL Networks uses NVISION
In the run up to Super Bowl XLII Feb. 3, the NFL Network is offering football fans a variety of ways to live the NFL experience from an insider’s perspective. The NFL Network will provide more than 100 broadcasting hours with news, features and interviews all week leading up to the big game. Every press conference will be carried live and expanded pre- and-post-game shows will be part of the coverage.
To ensure streamlined, reliable broadcasting to its viewers, the NFL Network will use NVISION’s master control and router control technology behind the scenes of Super Bowl XLII to manage the live programming feeds from the multiple venues to the network. NVISION systems used for this project include the NV5128-MC Multichannel Master Control, NV 915 Router Control and NV9640 Router Control Panel that offers up to 30 relegendable LCD buttons.
Jeff Howard, senior executive of engineering and broadcast technologies at the NFL Network, said, “Based on our years of experience with NVISION routers for the NFL, we knew NVISION switching equipment could give us the reliability and ease of use needed to manage hundreds of feeds from numerous venues for seamless delivery to our broadcast viewing audience. NVISION service and support, among the best in the business, gives us peace of mind in covering an event the magnitude of the Super Bowl.”
