To maximize bandwidth efficiency and video storage benefits, ntl has selected Scientific-Atlanta's MPEG-4 personal video recorder for the launch of its PVR service in the United Kingdom.
The new HD PVR takes advantage of MPEG-4 part 10/H.264 compression and will assist in ntl’s launch of high-definition television and personal video recorder services. Three video tuners in the set-top box allow customers to record three shows simultaneously.
