NVISION delivers master control systems
Grass Valley, Calif.-based signal routing provider NVISION has shipped its first NV5128-MC master control/routing switchers to broadcast clients al Hurra, the Arab-language satellite television channel, and CBS Television City, in Los Angeles.
The NV5128-MC control panel provides full operational control of Master Control Switchers from a single panel or group of panels. Direct access to primary system functions includes source selection, transition control and audio monitoring.
Designed to address the needs of television stations in the process of converting their existing analog infrastructure to digital, the NV5128-MC integrated master control/routing switcher is available as a stand-alone system or with a full-function hardware control panel.
The NV5128-MC control panel provides full operational control of Master Control Switchers from a single panel or group of panels. Direct access to primary system functions includes source selection, transition control and audio monitoring. LCD pushbuttons can be relabeled electronically for Preset/Program source selection, while a color LCD touch screen provides access to secondary system functions.
Housed in an 8RU frame, the NV5128-MC can accommodate up to 128 video/audio inputs and from one to four channels of digital master control, according to the company. The switcher is based on the field-proven technology of NVISION’s existing NV5128 multiformat router. Both of these products were developed by the same engineering team that pioneered such innovations as synchronous AES routing, digitally-processed time code routing, and large scale HD-SDI routing.
An HD version of the NV5128-MC will be unveiled at the upcoming NAB 2004 convention in Las Vegas.
