Nvision supplies routing systems to Ascent Media
Nvision, based in Grass Valley, CA, recently supplied an array of routing systems for use within a new cable and satellite broadcasting center in Singapore operated by Ascent Media. A. F. Associates, an Ascent Media Company, served as systems integrator on the project.
The order, fulfilled through Nvision’s franchised reseller for the region, Techtel, included an NV8256 512x512 digital video router configured for 240x240 SD-format signals; an NV3256 data port router; and an NV9000 dual-enhanced control system.
The NV8256 supports HD-SDI, SDI and analog video, and is expandable to 512x512 without DAs or secondary switching. System expandability results from the combination of a unique architecture and a high density 256x256 cross point module. When the base unit is expanded beyond 256x256, a second module is added, increasing the size of the cross point array to 512x256. If a second 512x256 frame is added, and the two frames interconnected, the resulting system is 512x512.
In addition to full external automation control, the routers will also be operated under manual control using standard Nvision panels to provide system operators with a user-friendly interface for emergency intervention, or casual QC monitoring.
