NY1 News goes tapeless with help of Panasonic P2 technology

Time Warner’s 24-hour, all-news cable channel in New York City — New York One — is using 22 of Panasonic’s new AJ-SPX800 DVCPRO P2 solid-state memory camcorders. The new P2s were used to capture the events surrounding the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.
In addition to AJ-SDX800s, NY1 has also acquired Panasonic AJ-SPD850 studio decks and AJ-PCD10 drives.
Time Warner’s 24-hour, all-news cable station in New York City, is available to more than 2 million subscribers.
