NYN selects Fujinon HD lenses for new digital production studios
Fujinon's HA17x7.8ERM lenses are capturing images for the New York Network (NYN). The lenses, used with Sony HDC-900 HDCAM HD studio cameras, are located in three separate digital studios.
The New York Network (NYN), New York’s official TV network, recently moved into a new $10.6 million digital facility in Albany, N.Y. Along with a full complement of Sony digital production equipment, including production switchers, routers and edit systems, NYN selected seven Fujinon HA17x7.8ERM ENG-style high-definition (HD) lenses for its Sony HDC-900 HDCAM HD studio cameras - located in three separate digital studios.
NYN completed a move into its new home this spring, with the help of the Sony Systems Integration division. The network is distributed via the state-run SUNYSAT system on KU-band satellite and cable TV. It goes out to commercial network and affiliate stations, OTB locations and all of the State University of New York (SUNY) campuses, of which NYN is a part.
Located in Albany’s Empire State Plaza, the new digital facilities were built over the past year. Signals are acquired with 1080i HD equipment and distributed in standard-definition (SD, 480i) resolution across the state.
