NYT Calls HDTV 'High-Maintenance TV'
If you've spent time on the phone helping a viewer attempting to receive your station's DTV signal, you may find the New York Times article High-Maintenance TV interesting. The article mentions "tales of woe" about receiving HDTV found on www.avsforum.com. The problems are not limited to broadcast DTV signals. DBS satellite apparently has some trouble with HDTV as well.
Read High-Maintenance TV for more information, including quotes from Nat Ostroff and Mark Richer. Note that free registration is required to read the New York Times article. If this troubles you, I also found the article in the Wilmington Star Online and on Starbanner.com, although these articles did not include the pictures present in the New York Times article.
