Oceanic Time Warner selects Optinel
Optinel's PLEXiS provides Oceanic Time Warner Cable with the hardware and software tools to capture and expand revenue-generating opportunities beyond their currently offered services.
Oceanic Time Warner, the Hawaii division of Time Warner Cable and a leading provider of broadband services on the Hawaiian Islands, has purchased Optinel’s PLEXiS MFX transport platform for deployment of services on the island of Oahu.
Optinel's PLEXiS system for network transport is capable of supporting from a few to more than 80,000 video streams per fiber, over distances of greater than 500km. It provides Oceanic Time Warner Cable with the hardware and software tools to capture and expand revenue-generating opportunities beyond their currently offered services.
Key to this deployment is Optinel’s scalable optical Gigabit Ethernet technology. Available in multiple transceiver, transmitter and receiver formats, this suite of products provides 1-, 2.5- or 10Gb/s of unidirectional or bi-directional capacity per wavelength, allowing a balance between high network capacity and granular scalability.
