Omneon Expands
Omneon Video Networks has received an additional $10.5 million in financing from INVESCO Private Capital. Also participating in the latest round of funding for the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based server company was existing investors Accel Partners, Advance Technolgy Ventures, Intel Capital, Lucent Venture Partners, Meritech Capital Partners and Norwest Venture Partners, as well as new investor Centre Palisades.
The company says the financing will allow it to expand its business internationally. New installations of Omneon's Spectrum media servers include PBS, Raycom Media, and CBN in the U.S., the BBC, BSkyB and TV Cabo in Europe and Network Ten in Asia/Pacific.
Omneon also announced the opening of a new office in Tokyo to concentrate on the Japanese broadcast market. The office will be headed up by Yasuyuki Yoshida as sales engineer and Kay Yamashita, who will head up business development.
