Omneon to Unveil New HD Gear at IBC2004
Omneon Video Networks will launch new HD products at IBC this September in Amsterdam.
The dual-channel MultiPort 4000 series is Omneon's new playback device that allows users to playout HD MPEG media directly from an Omneon server. The second component is the single-channel MediaPort 4010 that ingests HD material through an ASI stream and stores the data in HD MPEG format. These two components allow for HD material to be directly ingested from any third-party encoder and played out directly through the Omneon server.
Omneon will also introduce enhancements to its SDTI media interface adapter, the MediaPort 1002, which enables support for Panasonic's compressed HD format, DVCPRO-HD. The Omneon Spectrum incorporates Smart Scalability, which allows broadcasters to deploy a server infrastructure for HD and SD playback and to add channels or services.
The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company debuted native MXF at NAB and will showcase it at IBC. Omneon Spectrum users can use QuickTime of MXF as the media wrapper format for material stored within an Omneon server.
Omneon will be in Booth 8.260 at IBC2004, Sept. 10-14. For more information, visit http://www.ibc.org/
