Omneon unveils new proxy generation system
With the Omneon ProBrowse, users can view proxies on a standard PC, add or change metadata, and mark in and out points on clips for playback from the Omneon Spectrum server.
Omneon Video Networks has unveiled a new system that complements the Omneon Spectrum media server.
The Omneon ProBrowse creates and displays low-resolution proxy versions of full-resolution material contained within the server system.
The system:
- Monitors content directories within any number of networked Omneon Spectrum servers.
- Automatically generates 1Mb/s low-resolution versions of all material, includes any new material being ingested or copied into the Omneon Spectrum system via live recording or IP transfer.
- Proxies are made immediately available for viewing on any networked PC using standard viewers or the Omneon ProBrowse Desktop.
Users can view proxies on a standard PC, add or change metadata, and mark in and out points on clips for playback from the Omneon Spectrum server. The system may be scaled independently of an Omneon Spectrum system to support additional proxy generation or a growing proxy library.
