Omnibus Systems, the Leicestershire, U.K. company, has added to a pair of its existing installments at TV3 and 8TV in Malaysia. The operations have subsequently added newsroom systems based on the OmniBus Columbus play-out system.
The ingest tools in the system enable the acquisition of satellite feeds as one-off or scheduled recordings alongside material from field tapes and other sources. Columbus automatically loads the required content and plays it out under manual control, allowing both channels to be controlled from the same facility in Kuala Lumpur.
Last year, OmniBus installed a single play-out channel for 8TV to go to air for the Chinese New Year. Recently, TV3 migrated to a similar system that enables compliance editing using OmniBus browse technology.
