Panasonic has launched its new 1080i DVCPRO HD camcorder.
Panasonic coupled its AJ-HDX400 with its AJ-HD1200A IEEE 1394 DVCPRO HD VTR and added Apple Final Cut HD software to lower the cost of HD post production.
The camcorder comes with three 2/3-inch 1 million pixel IT progressive CCDs, 12-bit analog-to-digital DSP circuits, color reproduction and luminance gradation and a 12-axis matrix color correction system. Also, the camcorder uses DVCPRO HD-LP 9-micron recording to record 33 minutes on a DVCPRO medium-sized cassette and records 48 kHz/16-bit digital audio on all four channels. Other features include a Cine-like gamma curve, auto tracking white balance, two 4-position optical filters and one-touch display for 4:3 aspect ratio.
