Pathfire has announced a technology agreement with Sundance Digital, makers of broadcast automation software, that will enable broadcasters to fully automate the movement of syndicated and spot content from receipt to air.
Under terms of the agreement, Pathfire is licensing its Digital Media Gateway (DMG) Automation Connect protocol to Sundance. This will allow seamless integration between Pathfire systems and the full line of Sundance Digital’s automation systems. The two companies will jointly market their respective systems.
Leading the range of Sundance Digital products that will integrate with Pathfire’s DMG Automation Connect are Titan, a scalable automation technology that permits dynamic reassignment of playlist control via its graphical user interface, and FastBreak Automation, a frame-accurate controller of video servers and other station peripherals.
The Pathfire system enables hands-free management and movement of Pathfire-delivered content and metadata from ingest to playout by interfacing directly with broadcast facility automation systems.
As programming, spot content and associated metadata arrive in a broadcast facility via the Pathfire DMG server, Automation Connect automatically distributes and delivers this information into the Sundance database, which then directs the movement of content into play-to-air servers as appropriate.
A fully automated workflow eliminates the need to monitor satellite-programming feeds and gives multiple users in a facility instant and simultaneous access to preview content.
