Patriot Builds New Testing Plant
Patriot Antenna Systems recently purchased a new anechoic chamber and high-frequency test gear for satellite feed and antenna development in its new facility in Albion, Mich.
The plant is scheduled to open by the first week of December and will be used to support Patriot internal product development, but will be open to other companies with design/test needs on a contract basis. The new equipment, combined with recent software purchases, will allow Patriot to supply feed patterns, Xpol data, Axial Ratio data, and feed phase center as well as small antenna patterns.
Patriot is equipping the facility with a chamber that features a 10 x 10 x 20-foot room with 12- and 18-inch broadband pyramidal absorber-lined walls. An Agilent 8722 Vector Network Analyzer will be used for testing. Measurement capability will range from C-Band frequencies up to 40 GHz.
