PBS Automates Media Ops With RadiantGrid
PBS recently announced that it has selected RadiantGrid technology for automating its Media Operations Center workflow.
"The Media Operations Center is constantly looking for ways to improve automation and efficiencies, from audio up-mixing and loudness correction to watermarking for VOD content," said Wendy Allen, PBS senior director of media operations & the media library. "We are always looking for opportunities to automate our processes and evolve our metadata management and production workflow. RadiantGrid allows us to maximize our automated processes and gain efficiencies for our multi-platform distribution model."
The RadiantGrid platform is designed to directly integrate with Avid Media Composer workstations and Avid’s ISIS storage system, allowing PBS to export and publish their VOD, syndication content and other files.
PBS and RadiantGrid expect to scale the system’s capacity to meet demands of PBS clients. PBS expects to add to the system to streamline both its traditional broadcast workflow, as well as its online video publishing operations.
