PBS, Sony to develop HD production system model
By TVTechnology
published PBS and Sony are developing a model high-definition production system for stations to adopt and implement regardless of market size.
Sony is upgrading several PBS stations to HD nationally. The pilot program will grow out of this effort as these stations serve as models for HD production.
The project will involve a cross section of stations in large, medium and small markets. Said to be in its formative stages, the agreement will likely encompass equipment discounts for PBS member stations and financial support for HD production efforts on PBS’ National Program Services.
