PBS station chooses Miranda for master control and monitoring
WNIN-TV, a public TV station in Evansville, IN, has ordered channel branding, master control and monitoring equipment from Miranda Technologies to streamline operations in its master control room.
Implemented by system integrator Heartland Video Systems, the installation includes five Miranda Imagestore master control switching and channel branding processors, which provide automated and manual control of one HD and four SD channels. During live production, a Presmaster panel will enable WNIN to move master control operations to a secondary control point in the production area, allowing the master control operator to assist with live production, while still maintaining full control of the automated channels.
Imagestore Intuition coprocessors will generate data-driven graphics templates, which enable the station to create individual looks for each channel.
All the master control outputs and off-air signals will be monitored by Miranda's iControl system, which offers highly graphical facility representations, with full motion and high-quality streaming video. The system offers instant access to signal information and allows operators to drill down through facility views to assess specific signals and alarms.
