PESA's Cheetah Router Delivered for Mobile TV Group's Newest HD Mobile Production Truck
The Mobile Television Group is outfitting its newest mobile production truck, "10HDX," with a variety of PESA routers including a 64x64 Cheetah HD router and a 128x256 Cheetah analog router. A state-of-the-art mobile production facility, "10HDX" will be actively involved in supporting HD coverage of sporting events throughout southern California.
"We've had great success with PESA's SD and HD routing products in several other trucks, so we are confident that our new Cheetah systems will serve as reliable and robust solutions for live event coverage at the best possible quality," said Phil Garvin, general manager of The Mobile Television Group. "In our experience the Cheetah HD has all the features necessary to meet the demands of remote HD broadcasting."
The Mobile Television Group previously upgraded two of its trucks with Cheetah systems, "6HDX" and "5HDX," and now with "10HDX" the company will boast six HD units on the road. The 53-foot-long "10HDX" SD/HD unit expands to 13 feet wide and features 14 cameras, numerous decks and replay/edit systems, and support for a broad range of incoming and outgoing feed formats. The new truck, designed and constructed by Colorado Studios, is scheduled to launch this month.
"Cheetah's proven performance and format flexibility continue to strengthen our share of routers in the mobile truck industry," said Bob McAlpine, PESA's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The Mobile Television Group's '10HDX' expansion is just another example of how well suited PESA's compact routing systems are for mobile environments demanding high performance in a minimum of space."
The Cheetah, PESA's flagship router system, is a full-featured digital routing switcher with the power to handle SDI, HDTV, and non-standard digital signals in the same frame. To accommodate a wide range of requirements, the Cheetah is available in 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, and 512x512 frame sizes and can handle bit rates from 3 Mb/s up to 1.5 Gb/s. It has input and output modules available in both copper and fiber.
